Project details
The majestic 22 room federation manor ‘Ardagh’, circa 1905 is a renowned Mosman landmark that was recently styled by Evolve and is our largest styling project to date.
With over 1000sqm of internal space the project took months of planning, three days of installation and a team of nine to bring to fruition a classic blend of historical elegance updated to reflect modern family living conditions. Evolve had the great privilege of working closely with the owners to carefully curate from their extensive collection of treasured antiques, art and unique collectables to find the perfect balance of furnishings to reflect the historical architecture and the comfort of a modern contemporary family home. Three 20-foot containers of furniture were removed and the retained furnishings were then complimented with a vast amount of Evolve’s designer inventory to deliver the final result.
Our stylists drew inspiration from the soaring 3.6m ceilings and ornate features throughout the home. Mimicking the classic green and pink colours found in the stunning original led light glass in the formal lounge our stylists used plum, pink and green accents to create a sense of harmony and flow throughout the 100sqm room, creating separate living spaces within this enormous open plan room.
Luxurious gold accents and marble furniture mirrored the stunning original marble fireplaces and brass chandeliers throughout the formal dining and living spaces. A truly opulent home this impressive three level layout featured views of the harbour bridge.
Featuring a gorgeous original coach house, the perfect self-contained guest retreat was styled with laid back living and relaxation in mind. To bring a touch of the modern our stylists selected neutral grey and white linen furnishing and timber and glass coffee and side tables, to lighten the space and contrast to the darker antique furniture.
Truly the master of the art of the federation home, this once in a lifetime family property was an absolute pleasure to style and a great reflection on the beauty and elegance of a bygone era.
